Who Can Serve

Anyone 14 years old and older may volunteer and must be accompanied by an adult who has their Safe Environment and Food Handler’s certifications.

All volunteers must complete two training sessions (all online):

  1. Food Handler’s Certification
  2. Civil Rights Training

Adults 18 and up must complete Safe Environment training.

What Volunteers Do
  • Help sort items and prepare bags with perishable food and non-perishable groceries.
  • Load clients’ car trunks with bags of groceries, produce, bread and frozen perishable food products to people in their cars, making sure they have enough to eat during difficult times.
  • Help direct traffic, ensuring safety for volunteers and families coming for food assistance.
When We Serve

The Friday before the 2nd Saturday of every month from 12 to 4 pm to pack food bags.

The 2nd Saturday of every month from 7-10 am in the Mercy Center’s parking lot.

Why You Should Serve

Because it allows you to help many people quickly and safely by providing them with essential food supplies in their cars.

Required Safe Environment Training

If you are 18 years old and above, our archdiocese requires all adult volunteers to complete safe environment training.

This short one-hour online training teaches people how to create a secure and protected environment for everyone, especially children, by recognizing and preventing potential risks or harm.
